In Grupo Saxum over the years we have built a solid track record in various sectors, dedicating ourselves to the structuring, development, project management, and business opportunities from water treatment systems to the construction of vertical and horizontal condominiums. The experience acquired has provided us with the necessary tools and knowledge to successfully address this new challenge and now, with great enthusiasm we are opening a new chapter with the beginning of the construction of our first Hotel project.

In 2021 the idea of developing our first hotel was born, after analyzing several properties and recognizing the growing demand in a booming area such as Coyol de Alajuela, so the necessary studies and completion of requirements were carried out to sign an agreement with the renowned Marriott International chain to build a Residence Inn brand hotel.

Building a hotel of Marriott's stature required a significant investment in time and resources. We opened a new hospitality department incorporating experienced professionals to the team and established strong relationships with investors, with the confidence to plan, design, build and operate this project.

To ensure that our hotel met Marriott's high quality standards, we worked closely with an interdisciplinary team of experts in Costa Rica such as the construction firm Van der Laat y Jimenez, Carazo Arquitectura, X2 Ingeniería, BA Ingeniería; as well as many others in specific areas such as acoustics, kitchen, and equipment. Together, we adjusted the design of the hotel according to the brand guidelines, using high quality materials and finishes to ensure that it would meet the expectations and needs of future guests.

The Residence Inn by Marriott Coyol is designed to offer guests an exceptional extended stay experience. Each of the 120 studio rooms features a fully equipped kitchen, cozy living room and work area. In addition, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the Central Valley and the Coyol Industrial Zone along with a lounge bar on the top level.

We started construction in October 2024, and as Grupo Saxum is committed to innovation and sustainability, we have applied our expertise in high-rise construction to create an energy-efficient hotel. In addition, we incorporate the latest trends in hotel technology to offer our guests a totally different experience.

We are very proud to be able to contribute to the Coyol de Alajuela community and create more than 150 new jobs during the construction phase, in addition to 60 direct jobs for the operational phase.

This project is much more than a hotel; for us it is a symbol of our commitment to excellence, trust and teamwork, to build a better future and leave a legacy for future generations to contribute to improving the quality of life.
