Saxum Agua: Leading toward sustainability from the National Wastewater Technical Committee

In Saxum Agua we believe that sustainability is built with concrete actions and participation in the spaces where the standards that will mark the future are defined. Therefore, we are proud to announce our appointment in the National Technical Committee on Wastewater, a key forum in the definition of standards and guidelines for the responsible management of this vital resource.

What is the role of the committee?

The committee's mission is to translate and adapt international technical standards to the national context, ensuring that regulations in Costa Rica meet both the highest global standards and local realities. In addition, the committee participates in international voting processes, representing the country's official position in forums where new global reference standards are studied and approved.

In this space, the work is not limited to regulation: consensus is built, visions are aligned and collaborative work is promoted so that technical solutions have a real impact on society.

The importance of wastewater management

Being part of this committee allows us to reinforce one of our core commitments: to promote the treatment and safe reuse of wastewater as a pillar of sustainability.

From this platform, we will contribute to the development and revision of technical standards that:

  • Promote efficient and safe water reuse.
  • Encourage innovation in sustainable solutions.
  • Facilitate the implementation of technologies adapted to the country's needs.
  • Support companies and communities in building a culture of responsible water resource management.

Allies in sustainability

The National Wastewater Technical Committee integrates the vision of companies that design treatment and reuse systems, as well as key players in the construction and environmental sector. It also opens the door to future synergies with institutions such as the Federated College of Engineers and Architects (CFIA), the Costa Rican Chamber of Construction (CCC), the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) and the Ministry of Health (MS).

These links strengthen a collaborative ecosystem in which water is no longer seen as a waste product, but as a valuable resource that drives the country's sustainable development.

Leading towards sustainability

Saxum Agua's membership on the committee represents a further step in our mission to lead towards sustainability, bringing technical expertise, strategic vision and commitment to the future of our communities.

We believe that change is achieved when the private sector, institutions and society work together. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to continue contributing to the construction of a country where water is managed with responsibility, innovation and a vision of the future.
